As a Practice we believe that communication is key to informing our patients about important clinically relevant information, this includes sending you a confirmation of your appointment at the Practice, sending a reminder 24hrs before your appointment as well as informing you that we have recently received your blood results. It is also a useful method of contact to avoid you missing your appointments at the Practice.
Having your most up to date mobile number recorded with us is essential and your responsibility to change/update it if it is no longer in use.
The CCG has recently confirmed that on the legal basis of “Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or on the exercise of official authority vested in the controller ” much like other Hospital Services that send you SMS Text Confirmation, we have adopted the same policy and will be enabling this for all our patients that have chosen to share their mobile number with us.
If you choose not to, then we will remove your mobile number from our system so you will not receive any contact from the Practice on your mobile phone.
Your mobile phone number will only be used by the Practice and will not be passed to any other parties.
If at any time you would like to opt out of the above services, please make a request in writing to the Practice and you will be opted out of the service within 48 hours. You may also like to include your reason for opting out, to help us review and improve the service in future.
No personal details will be included in the message to identify you.
Whilst the Practice will regularly check your telephone numbers with you, please be aware that the onus of keeping your contact details current with the practice rests with you.
